Fighting Food Waste Through Recovery

Planetary Design Supports The Food Recovery Network

Planetary Design is excited to support the Food Recovery Network. For every Airscape® sold, Planetary Design dedicates a portion of profits to donate to this worthy organization. The Food Recovery Network (FRN) unites students on college campuses to fight food waste and hunger by recovering perishable food that would otherwise go to waste from their campuses and communities and donating it to people in need. It is the largest student movement against food waste and hunger in America.

“There is absolutely no reason anyone should go hungry when we produce plenty of food for everyone. This is why I want to fight for zero hunger."

The statistic that America wastes approximately 40% of the food it produces is staggering. Much of the waste occurs at the consumer-facing level, a problem which the Airscape® helps to solve, by allowing individuals to preserve food longer, wasting less over the long run. Their Airscape® Bucket Insert also serves as the perfect compost pail solution when paired with a 5-gallon bucket, providing another method of diverting food waste from ending up in a landfill.
