Why a Planetary Design Product
There are thousands of coffee mugs, French presses and kitchen canisters on the market, so why Planetary Design? First and foremost is quality. We use 18/8, restaurant-grade, double-walled stainless steel in all of our steel products and in most cases this is also vacuum-insulated. Basically, this is a higher-end steel that is completely food-safe and has incredible insulative properties, especially when double-walled and vacuum-insulated, so that your drink stays hot (or cold) for much longer than other stainless steel mugs. Stainless steel is, and always has been, BPA-free, so no-worries about chemicals leaching into your drink, a very valid concern when drinking from plastic. In addition, stainless steel does not impart flavors, so your afternoon tea won”t taste like your morning coffee. The AirScape Lite kitchen canister, our only non-stainless steel product, is made from a BPA-Free copolyster as customers were demanding the same food storage technology of the AirScape kitchen canister in a see through version, and clear stainless steel, simply doesn’t exist! Finally, when you purchase a reusable travel mug, french press mug or stainless steel French Press you are helping to descrease the amount of single-use cups and filters that end up in our landfills for generations. The US alone uses over 24 BILLION wax-lined (non-biodegradable) paper coffee cups every year – so this is a big step in the right direction for our planet.
