Coffee Gear Built for the Backcountry

You're done compromising on coffee quality when you leave pavement. Our camping accessories are built around one goal: brewing café-quality coffee in the wild without hauling fragile glass or settling for lukewarm instant. Every BruTrek® French press uses double-walled vacuum insulation to keep water hot through the steep, critical when you're brewing at altitude or in cold weather. Stainless steel construction survives drops that would shatter glass. This is gear designed for overland vehicle trips, bell tent glamping setups, and multi-day trekking where every ounce and every piece of kit earns its place.

Bru-Stop® Technology Stops Over-Extraction

Standard travel presses have a fatal flaw: once you press the plunger, grounds keep sitting in the water and keep extracting. Coffee that tasted perfect at minute four turns bitter by minute fifteen. Bru-Stop® fixes this with a flexible stainless steel plate and silicone gasket that seal grounds off from brewed coffee the moment you press. You get bold, full-bodied coffee with no bitterness, no grit, and no rush to drink it fast, making it one of the most practical travel essentials for brewing at your own pace, whether you're breaking camp or watching sunrise from your overland vehicle systems setup.

Insulated Drinkware for Camp and Trail

Our camp cups, tumblers, and water bottles handle everything from morning coffee to evening cocktails around the fire. Vacuum insulation keeps drinks at temperature for hours. Stainless steel construction means no retained odors and no breakage when you knock it off a tailgate. The BruTrek® Camp Cup works for coffee, beer, or water. One versatile piece of kit instead of three. Add the optional straw and lid for dusty hiking trails or fishing trips where you need a secure seal.

French Press Options for Every Trip

We build four sizes of insulated French presses, all with Bru-Stop® technology. Pick based on group size and pack weight. The BaseCamp Camping French Press comes in 32 oz and 48 oz, your group-sized option for base camp or canvas bell tent setups where weight isn't the limiting factor. The OVRLNDR® Travel Press (24 oz), Steel Toe 3.0 (20 oz), and Double Shot 4.0 (16 oz) are brew-and-drink vessels in one. Make coffee directly in the press, then drink from it. No separate mug to pack, wash, or lose.

Coarse Grounds and Four-Minute Steep

Heat water to about 200°F on your camp stove or fire. Use coarse grounds, about two tablespoons per six-ounce cup. Fine grounds slip past the mesh filter and turn to grit. Pour, stir once, seat the plunger on top without pressing. Wait four minutes. The insulated walls maintain temperature through the steep, which is what makes proper extraction possible outdoors. Press slowly and steadily. Whole process takes about five minutes from boil to first sip. Clean the mesh filter thoroughly and disassemble the plunger mechanism weekly to prevent oil buildup.

Durability as Environmental Responsibility

An insulated press bought once displaces years of paper cups and single-use pods. We build gear to survive, not to be replaced. Stainless steel doesn't shatter when dropped off a car rack or knocked over at camp. We sell replacement parts, run refill programs, and use compostable packaging where possible. Your purchase supports The Conservation Alliance, including our work protecting the Boundary Waters through concrete legislation. We're a Montana company that designs and field-tests locally, and we're tired of gear that looks adventure-ready but fails in use.

Accessories for Camp Coffee and Beyond

Round out your camping kit with tools that solve real problems. The Hand Coffee Grinder gives you fresh-ground beans anywhere, critical for flavor since pre-ground coffee goes stale fast. The Collapsible Pour Over packs flat for backpacking when you want a lighter brewing option. The BruTrek® Paddle Stir Stick handles stirring and pressing without scratching stainless steel. The Expedition Kit bundles press, grinder, and tea lover supplies into one ready-to-go package for overland trips or hunting camps where you're setting up a full outdoor kitchen.

From Backcountry to Daily Commute

This gear works as hard on your daily commute as it does on weekend trips. The insulated travel presses double as office mugs. The Adventure Tumbler fits car cup holders. The BruTrekker® Water Bottle handles hydration on hiking trails and at your desk. We don't separate "adventure gear" from everyday use because capable people don't compartmentalize their lives that way. You want gear that performs consistently whether you're trekking to a remote fishing spot or just need reliable coffee before a morning meeting.
