Brutrek® Camp Cup Straw + Lid Accessory
Storage That Actually Preserves Freshness
Most containers seal oxygen in with your beans. Airscape® removes it first. The inner plunger lid descends directly onto the coffee, forcing air out through a one-way valve as it goes. No headspace means no staling. The last cup tastes like the first, whether you're storing whole bean or grounds for your favorite espresso accessories.
Available in stainless steel, BPA-free plastic, glass, and ceramic. The Classic holds 250g or 500g. The Kilo handles bulk buys. The Bucket Insert converts a standard 5-gallon bucket for cafés and roasters. Fresh-Port® replacement lids mean a worn seal is a $15 fix, not a reason to replace the canister.
Why Airless Beats Airtight
Oxygen oxidizes coffee oils and flattens aroma into cardboard. Light degrades those oils further. Heat accelerates everything. Airscape blocks all three: the plunger removes oxygen, opaque materials block light, and insulated walls maintain consistent temperature. Freshly roasted beans off-gas CO2. The valve lets it escape without letting oxygen back in, ensuring every coffee measuring scoop delivers peak flavor.

Argon for Long-Term Storage
Airgone® argon gas adds a second layer. A 2-second flush lays a barrier over the beans. Argon is heavier than oxygen, non-reactive, odorless, and tasteless. About 75 flushes per canister. Pair it with an Airscape for the longest shelf life we can engineer without refrigeration.
Brewing Gear for Home and Trail
ethoz® pour-over brewers and BruTrek® insulated presses cover opposite contexts with the same obsession: control over variables. Pour-over rewards technique like grind size, water temperature, pouring speed. French press rewards patience and coarse grounds. Both beat a drip machine if you're willing to spend five minutes.
Pour-Over Fundamentals
Start with medium grind, finer than French press, coarser than espresso. Heat water to roughly 195–205°F (let it sit 30 seconds after boiling). Use a 1:15 coffee-to-water ratio, about 2 tablespoons per 8 ounces, and adjust to taste. Pour slowly in a circular motion, wetting all grounds evenly. The ethoz® Pour Over Set includes a glass carafe and stainless brewer. Paper filters give a clean, light cup. Reusable stainless mesh allows more oils through for fuller body.
French Press Without the Bitterness
Bru-Stop® solves the problem every other travel press ignores: once you press the plunger, grounds keep sitting in the water and keep extracting. Coffee that was good at minute four is bitter by minute fifteen. Bru-Stop uses a flexible stainless steel plate and silicone gasket to seal the grounds off from the brewed coffee, making it a perfect addition to any coffee bar setup. Press once, drink whenever. No rush, no grit, no over-extraction.
The BaseCamp holds 32 or 48 ounces for groups. The OVRLNDR® Travel Press is 24 ounces. You can brew in it, drink from it. Steel Toe and Double Shot are smaller single-serve options. All double-walled vacuum-insulated, all built to survive a drop. Use coarse grounds, steep four minutes, press slowly. Insulated walls keep water hot through the steep, even in cold weather.
Drinkware and Outdoor Accessories
BruTrek® Camp Cups, Adventure Tumblers, and BruTrekker® Water Bottles extend the insulated-stainless line beyond brewing. The Collapsible Pour Over packs flat for backpacking. The Hand Coffee Grinder fits in a pack. The Trestle adapter converts an Aeropress® or K-cup® brewer for camp use. These aren't coffee-only, the drinkware line covers beer, wine, spirits, and water.
Built in Montana, Tested in the Field
Planetary Design has spent 15+ years refining patent-protected innovations like the Airscape valve and Bru-Stop mechanism. We design and field-test locally, run refill programs, use compostable packaging where we can, and sell replacement parts instead of pushing whole-unit replacements. Revenue supports conservation efforts through The Conservation Alliance, including Boundary Waters protection legislation.
Durable gear replaces disposable packaging. A canister bought once displaces years of bags. A reusable filter eliminates paper waste. An insulated press-and-mug replaces pods and paper cups. Stainless steel and borosilicate glass don't retain odor, don't stain, and last decades if you don't lose them first.
Whether you're outfitting a kitchen counter or a backpack, start with the fundamentals: clean equipment, fresh beans stored airless, consistent grind and ratio, water at the right temperature. The rest is preference. Browse the full collection and find what fits your routine.
