Airship Coffee: Sustainable Roaster of the Month

At Planetary Design, our goal is to eliminate single-use within the coffee industry. We have many ways that tackle this problem, but the Airscape Refill Program is our most popular. The Airscape Refill Program promotes an easy and sustainable way to sell freshly roasted coffee beans.

The Airscape Refill Program

Use any of our airless coffee canisters or included cotton refill bags at your participating local coffee roaster to get a discount on freshly roasted beans. By doing this, you, as the consumer, are eliminating single-use paper, plastics and bags harmful to the environment. You also save on fantastic coffee that you are already buying and are using an airless coffee canister that will keep your beans fresh for three times longer. The Airscape Refill Program is a Win-Win for both consumers and roasters looking to combine sustainability with amazing coffee.

We at Planetary Design want to give these shops an even bigger platform to promote their sustainability efforts. So, we are launching our Sustainable Coffee Roaster of the Month, focusing on a different coffee roaster or refill company already using our Airscape Refill Program each month. Our first Sustainable Coffee Roaster of the Month is Airship.

Airship’s Sustainability Efforts

Airship’s motto is “Drink Coffee. Go Outside.” What this motto means and what Airship is all about is promoting active ways to become stewards of our planet.

As a coffee roaster, they aren’t just talking the talk when it comes to connecting to the Earth and caring for it, they also walk the walk.

They put careful thought into every part of their business and how they can reduce their carbon footprint and encourage their customers to do the same. For customers, they give six simple ways to become better stewards together:

1. Leave the Keys – Walk, run, ride your bike – find any way to get out of the car.
2. Join our Canister Club – Use the AIRSHIP branded airless coffee canisters by Airscape to get a discount on some excellent coffee.
3. BYOC – Simple. Bring Your Own Cup, receive 10% off.
4. Start Composting – Check out the Airscape Bucket Inserts as a reliable way to get the most out of composting. Here’s a video for inspiration.
5. Ditch the Straws and Lids – Save the Turtles, get rid of that plastic filling our landfills.
6. Join a Local CSA – CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This is a wonderful way to support local farmers and know where your food comes from.

Who is Airship?

Airship started in 2010 and opened their first coffee bar in Bentonville, Arkansas, eight years later. Now, with a third location on the way, Airship is growing rapidly due partly to their commitment to sustainability and doing everything they can to Drink Coffee. Go Outside.
